 Redwood Commencement Ceremony 2026 Information

 

All guests are welcome to attend as there are not any restrictions on the number of guests.

 

  • Commencement Ceremony Information 
    • Tuesday, June 2nd at 7:30pm at the Mineral King Bowl
    • Entrance: Gates located on Giddings Ave and Mineral King will open at 6:00pm
    • Seats cannot be reserved ahead of time. 
    • Handicap seating requests must be emailed to abarba@vusd.org by May 22nd.

 

Information for Seniors

 

  • Senior Breakfast,  (RHS Cafeteria)
    • Tuesday, June 2nd  is the Senior Breakfast
    • Senior breakfast is from 7:00am to 7:45am in front of the RHS Cafeteria
    • At 7:45am you must go to the bowl for Commencement practice

 

  • Commencement Ceremony Practice
    • Tuesday, June 2nd at 8:00 am is in the Mineral King Bowl 
    • Mandatory participation  
    • If you do not practice you will not walk in the Commencement Ceremony that night

 

  • Commencement Ceremony Night
    • Tuesday, June 2nd at 7:30 pm,  the Commencement Ceremony begins
    • At 6:00 pm, graduates must be inside the RHS Gym
    • No parents are allowed in the gym
    • Come to the gym dressed in your cap and gown. Be sure to follow the dress code guidelines listed below.

 

  • Commencement Ceremony / Dress Code for Graduates
    • Staff will check for appropriate attire before being allowed into the gym Commencement Ceremony night.
    • Approved attire includes: Collared shirt, dress shoes, dress slacks, black jeans are ok, dress, romper, dress slacks, dress shoes
    • No – Flip Flops, shorts, sunglasses or other distracting accessories. 
    • If approved, Caps can be decorated but decoration must be 2-dimensional, within the boundaries of the cap, and school-appropriate. If approved, cultural sash, military sash can be worn.

 

  • Expected Behavior / Commencement Ceremony Night for Graduates
    • All students will be subject to a “friendly frisk” upon entering the gym.
    • The following items are not allowed: cell phones, purses, balloons, noise makers, sunglasses, flowers, flower necklaces, dollar necklaces, etc.
    • Students found to be in possession of inappropriate items may be subject to removal from the ceremony
    • Diplomas will be handed out after the conclusion of the ceremony at the west end of the stadium.
    • Students are expected to follow school guidelines and conduct code. Diplomas can be pulled if students are in violation of the VUSD conduct code during the ceremony.
